New line of ROger Clemens T-shirts - 'Stop Snitching and Go To Jail'

damn my ass hurts from that b-12 shot

Anyone care enough to listen to that phone convo with The Rocket and his snitch. If you tried to watch PTI on ESPN News last night you had no choice.

What a bum Clemens is. The way he tried to set his boy up was so cowardly. Taping phone convos like Linda Tripp. And for all you legal analysts who can't tell. Homeboy was telling Roger he will do what Barry Bonds pushaman did for Double B. Go to jail for his boy. While Barry's dude did it for contempt Clemens' guy will do it for perjury. In both cases the low guy on the totem is down to fall on his sword. And it both cases I think you guys were juicing, but can still go to the Hall.

I am just waiting for Marc Ecko to weigh in. It's just not baseball news until we hear from 'he of the 8xl T-Shirt.'

and in other sports news the BCS proves itself worthless. Clearly OSU was not the team that should have been there. They would not have made it through a playoff. USC, Georgia, Hawaii should have been the last seed. Kansas. Wake up college football your brand can't take this type of beating forever. Playoffs mean more $ for everyone. Look at the pros, March Madness and the Bowl Subdivision...idiots.

And oh yeah 'Fired Up, Ready To Go' President Obama. Let's put this race to bed today.

Steroids are grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!

I don’t like baseball but I am all wrapped up in this Mitchell Report
Here are some thoughts

-And the winner is…Barry Bonds. Please get off my man’s back
-So Marc Ecko when are you gonna to spend ¾ of a million bucks to public embarrass The Rocket?
-warm up the asterisk branding irons Mr. Rhinoceroses
-I love how the Player’s Association doesn’t cooperate and then catches feelings that weren’t in the loop
-For the record I still vote for Barry and Clemens. Juice or not, they are 2 of the best.
-The juice is not magic people
-What do Barry Bonds, Clemens, Hank Aaron, Joe DiMaggio, Babe Ruth, Kirby Puckett, and George Brett have in common? A negative test for steroids or HGH
-And FYI unconscious racism is still in full and total effect. Bonds and Clemens have essentially the same evidence against them but I love how the defense of Clemens was almost immediate while the defense of Bonds still hasn’t materialized. And for the few journalists who have seen the light defending Barry is a footnote at best
-The head of BALCO snitches to save his skin and drops dime on Barry and the nooses are being strung
-Clemens’ trainer does the same and he is called a ‘sewer rat’ by Peter Gammons
-Barry gains muscle mass at a late age and people are measuring the circumference of his head
-The Rocket just works out real hard
-Now Tim Kurchin on ESPN is talking about ‘how many people in the hall were on speed.’ A point I made a while ago
-To perform on that level you have to be on something. Just call it a wash and don’t be too flagrant with it

Marc Ecko - where for art thou?

and I, Marc Ecko, shall now decide on other baseball matters including the all star game deciding who gets home field

The story that Mark Ecko bought the Barry Bonds ball is a truly ridiculous news piece. I thought it was a joke when I first saw the Allhiphop alert. There are several things that bother me. Wrote a post about it, wanna read it, here it go.

1. To be fair there are three options. Not two as widely reported. Option 1 - send it to the hall of fame. Option 2 - send it to the HOF with an asterisk branded on it. Option 3 - launch it into outerspace. At first I thought there were only options 1 and 2.

2. Ecko paid over $750k for the ball. Is he some crazy baseball fan that we never knew about? Where the hell did this come from? I didn't know he was a baseball enthusiast but I know he has portrayed himself as a fan of the Rhino and a supporter of the art of graffiti.
Isn't there a Rhino somewhere that could use that cheese. Those Rhinos were important at one point. So important you were charging $50 tickets last summer.
And I know there are several graf artists coughing up spray paint that could use it.

3. As a white man who has built an empire on Hip-Hop culture I would think you would have been more sensitive to the racial divide over Barry Bonds. Whether Bonds is right or wrong many Black folks think he is being unfairly persecuted. These are the same folks that drive the culture that earned you that extra 700 g's. This flagrant display makes me think this racial divide is irrelevant to you. And that concerns me.

4. How arrogant is it that you have decided to frame this argument. The issue is much more complex than the 3 choices. And the idea that Mark Ecko will decide how Barry Bonds is remembered is a shame. And concerns me again (see above).

5. After you vote on what to do with the ball you are re-directed to a slice of ecko.com. Hmmmm

Now Ecko has supported us over the years and I'm not hating. The whole story just bugs me out.

I want Belichick's whole paycheck

this whole piece will be on The Bodega next week

This piece is for all my sports fans. All you had to do was catch a moment of SportsCenter this week to hear about the Patriots spying scandal. Well the punishment was finally handed down and it is not only laughable but insulting. For me it goes further than football, it speaks to the sickness that infects this country. I am talking about racism.

Not cross burning, Confederate racism. Or even the psychopathic racist who tortured that woman in West Virginia. This is deep seeded, unconscious Dr. Frances Cress Welsing racism. For those who are not familiar with Dr Welsing’s book, The Isis Papers, here is the armchair synopsis. The global system of racism is based upon the genetic fear of people of color. The fear that the ‘mixing of the races’ will dilute the white race. And essentially all people will eventually be ‘colored’ on some level. That fear is manifested in a persecution of black males as they literally carry inside them the material (semen) that will cause this ‘browning’ of the world. This is why so many lynchings featured castrations. It is the basis of the game of pool (remember the scene in Boomerang). The purpose of Jim Crow laws. And on and on. Admittedly she stretches the argument but I always understood and agreed with the underlying theme. In America there has always been something about powerful Black men that triggers a bizarre response. And that response is usually to repress and silence those men. Violently or passively.

Dr. Welsing further argues that this psychosis is so deep it is now subconscious. It occurs and everywhere around us and is considered a normal modus operandi. Case in point Barry Bonds. Many people, me included, believe that if Barry bonds were white (Mark McGuire) there would be less hub-bub about his steroid investigation. Barry is not only big and Black, but unapologetic to the point of being arrogant. And America just doesn’t seem to like those types.

Wednesday Randomness

- yeah Barry!
- As some bloke in USA Today wrote the other day. "A lot of people take steroids but don't hit 756 home runs. It doesn't matter"
- Family vacations are great
- 90 degrees and 100% humidity at 9:00 pm sucks, however
- favorite show that Miles watches: The Backyardigans
- I do beleive out little operation is about to 'turn the proverbial corner'
- there is so much copy on okayplayer these days
- whatever happened to my Rock The Bells review?
- and shouldn't they tell people that Starks is not on the bill
- is he playing in other cities?
- never really thought David Banner made sense on that bill and I am sure he was ecstactic to be rocking at like 1 in the afternoon
- if corporate dudes rock power suits to big meetings what are we supposed to rock in our world to big meetings?

Soapbox time

" frack you George"

" nothing but weights and sports shakes...as far as you know..."

A little political and sports commentary today.

The alleged cave-in by the Democrats on Iraq yesterday

I think it was a brilliant move by the Dems. As Chris Mathews said, this move gives the Republicans complete ownership of the war. The Dems gave them a chance to begin to back peddle out of this before the ’08 election. Bush pissed on it. Now it’s his.
The polls are very clear. No one likes this war. The chances of that sentiment changing by September are slim to none. Especially when the same idiots who caused the problem are still at the wheel.
The Dems did not have the votes to defeat a veto, but they certainly will by September. Bush’s own people have told him as much. Why keep the fight going past the symbolic Memorial Day? “Bush was holding the money hostage and I decided to be the bigger man and give the troops the money. He has until September and if we are still in the same situation clearly we cannot have the same conversation again.”
The only way they will lose is if the surge works. And there is no evidence that the Bush strategy will work. That’s a good bet.

Barry Bonds and the home run chase

Bud Selig had better be there when Barry breaks the home run record. And I hope all the Bonds haters are pouring over the records of Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, and all the rest. How do we know the Babe or any other old school slugger wasn’t taking a little Tony Yayo, speed or whatever substance was not banned during their run? The reality is that Bonds, McGwire, and Sammy all danced as close to the line as the rules allowed. If you think Mike Schmidt, George Brett, or Mickey Mantle didn’t bend the rules you are being woefully naïve. You cannot persecute people retroactively, and you cannot persecute Barry only retroactively.
