I want Belichick's whole paycheck

this whole piece will be on The Bodega next week

This piece is for all my sports fans. All you had to do was catch a moment of SportsCenter this week to hear about the Patriots spying scandal. Well the punishment was finally handed down and it is not only laughable but insulting. For me it goes further than football, it speaks to the sickness that infects this country. I am talking about racism.

Not cross burning, Confederate racism. Or even the psychopathic racist who tortured that woman in West Virginia. This is deep seeded, unconscious Dr. Frances Cress Welsing racism. For those who are not familiar with Dr Welsing’s book, The Isis Papers, here is the armchair synopsis. The global system of racism is based upon the genetic fear of people of color. The fear that the ‘mixing of the races’ will dilute the white race. And essentially all people will eventually be ‘colored’ on some level. That fear is manifested in a persecution of black males as they literally carry inside them the material (semen) that will cause this ‘browning’ of the world. This is why so many lynchings featured castrations. It is the basis of the game of pool (remember the scene in Boomerang). The purpose of Jim Crow laws. And on and on. Admittedly she stretches the argument but I always understood and agreed with the underlying theme. In America there has always been something about powerful Black men that triggers a bizarre response. And that response is usually to repress and silence those men. Violently or passively.

Dr. Welsing further argues that this psychosis is so deep it is now subconscious. It occurs and everywhere around us and is considered a normal modus operandi. Case in point Barry Bonds. Many people, me included, believe that if Barry bonds were white (Mark McGuire) there would be less hub-bub about his steroid investigation. Barry is not only big and Black, but unapologetic to the point of being arrogant. And America just doesn’t seem to like those types.

So maybe I was wrong...

so let me get Lakers on the over, the Knicks on the under and a fin on you doing hard time

...about this whole Michael Vick thing.
Looks like he couldn't keep his boys from rolling over on him.
I don't know what the evidence is but it seems like his only chance to stay out of jail is to go to trial, which is scary as hell.

They must have a stronger case than I thought because the Feds are coming at him HARD. I keeping my eyes on this one.

The dirty NBA ref was right up the block yesterday copping his plea. I walked by the media onslaught on my way in and it was quite the sight.
Anyone who thinks he is the only dirty ref, player, coach, or GM is bugging. David Stern can try and spin this guy as the lone gunman but I don't buy it.

Not everyone is Lebron earning $100 million. Some of these players play one year and bounce around for the rest of their lives. You think they won't try to make the most out of their time in the league?
And the refs? they are not even full time employees.
Asst coaches and asst trainers who spend all day picking up sweaty shorts. You think they are above dipping their beak? Come on.

I took one trip to the Sports Book at the Belagio in Vegas and realized this. Gambling is why ESPN exists. Straight up. Sports nerds, yeah, but ESPN is to gambling what CNBC is to the stock market.

We'll see how it all plays out

Why Michael Vick will beat the case

1. He's rich and the justice system tends to bend to the will of the rich. Black or white. Ask The Juice (sorry).

2. All the info we have been getting is from the dude who just copped a plea. Just keep that in mind. Don't rule out sour grapes from a Turtle who got kicked out of the Vick Entourage. Two years ago Vick kicked this snitch out of the crib.

3. They need more than a snitch to connect Vick to criminal activity on his property. More witnesses, photos, something. Just because you own a crib doesn't mean you are responsible or lible for criminal activities on said property.

4. Witnesses can be bought. Indirectly, additional snitches will be bought out. Or they 'will get their stories straight' like Alberto Gonzalez and a DOJ aide.

5.Snitches are easy to discredit. Unless a smoking gun comes out I see reasonable doubt all over this. No matter what public opinion says the burden is on the prosecution.

6. If Ray Ray can beat a homocide charge and Kobe can beat a rape charge Vick can beat a dog fighting charge.

At the end of the day I want Vick to beat it. Because this shit ain't right. I own a dog so I hate the images conjured up. But keep the fake outrage. PETA - ok, that's what you do, but the rest of you be outraged at the Katrina survivors still living in squalor. Be outraged about childhood obesity. Or the diabetes eidemic in the Black community. Be outraged at the lack of gun control. Don't front like dog fighting keeps you up at night. Be honest you want to see Michael go down.

Corn row wearing, middle finger giving, can't stay in the pocket, changing the QB position, protecting your wild younger brother, Hip-Hop generation, filthy rich, unapologetic nigga. Yeah I said it.

Don't front. The system hates Michael Vick. And they are a lot of wicked people who hate him for his swagor. Black and white people who want to see him taken down a notch.

Not me. For all the right reasons and some wrong.
