Lupe continues with the stellar decisions

...After making some controversial statements about A Tribe Called Quest to media outlets last week and apparently being cited out of context for statements made to The Vibe Magazine last month; Lupe Fiasco is going to sue The Vibe for defamation of character. During a radio interview with Kay Slay on his satellite radio show, Lupe called in to explain how The Vibe interview was done last month and how his statements he made in context to a question asked to him about the elitist(ism) in Hip Hop.

Can my lawyer demographic chime in on this?

This is a bunch of bull, at the end of the day I'm on Lupe side. I'm going to take it out of the hip hop or rap category, and bring it to cartoons. My mom's cartoons (40yrs old teenage prego but she is a great mom), My cartoons (23), kids of today's cartoons. I would not penalize a child that is growing up today for not knowing the cartoons and their intros I grow up on 20 years from now. I wouldn't catch a heart attack if they didn't know Duck tales, Tiny Toons, Alvin and the chipmonks, Sailor Moon, Captian Plant, PBS magic school bus, osnapp hammer, and kid and play had a cartoon etc....which I may add all of them had fly intros. You have to understand in 90 I was 6, never owned a tribe called quest album, but my uncle (42) did that's his era, and I heard of tribe called quest music him. He wouldn't expect me to their album word for word. My mom loves house music I know songs because she played them. I just think you 40 something year olds just need to roll over and take a nap. I'm (23) and I feel sometimes I need to take a nap to those cartoons don't even come on anymore, I should be sadden but it's not my era anymore. It's hip hop but it just not your era, it's cartoons but its just not your era, the list goes on and people move on, and things keep evolving. Can't he be young, talented, stubborn, cocky, and have a opinon.

Using cartoons is a bad analogy. It's all about knowing your history...you have know who paved the way to know where you are going. So being young takes you off the hook from all past music because it wasn't you era? What about slavery and the civil rights movement? That wasn't your "era" so do you not see the impact in those events? Lupe is a clown....

"So being young takes you off the hook from all past music because it wasn't you era?"

No I'm not saying that, as I got older to were I could buy my own music. Tribe called Quest wasn't on my list biggie, tupac, junior mafia, the firm yes, I know them more then Tribe beacuse I grow up on that type of rap. I know of Tribe's music because of my uncle back in the day when he use to spin records. I feel like if I want to know more about a group the info is there when ever I'm ready.

"It's all about knowing your history...you have know who paved the way to know where you are going."

My point is It's up to people to accept more knowledge. People have the right to educate themselves on what they want to be informed about past or present. In Lupes case it was Chicago rappers in which he grow up on more then New York rappers. Everyone has different upbringings, and state of mind when years go by.

So he made is bed, let him lay in it.

Just replace cartoons with music, and it works.

Needs a Nap

It's been real
