----------------------------------i wanted to talk to you about this. i was down right giddy when i heard. just hope that they get busy and put out some music soon. i'd hate to see them go the way of say, MOP and not put out a record.
actually their signing is not really that surprising, what with scott storch and brother ?love laying down tracks for roc affiliate (and philly rep) freeway, the influence of a dude like pharrel, and let us not forget the unplugged connection.
still, you gotta wonder what the official jay-z seal of approval will do for the already mega-popular roots crew band... and vice versa
it's almost as exciting as waiting for fishscales.
some other carter administration additions i wouldn't mind seeing (scr style)
- jay dilla (get this man in there with just blaze,
please)
- pharaohe monch
- madlib (he could be a package deal with dilla maybe)
- the liks (they could be def jams new millennium party group ala red & meth)
- de la soul (maybe get that third aoi album out? hey, remember when jay said "trugoy"? that was awesome!)
- nas (now THAT would be a surprise)
who knows, with hova on top, def jam could become a safe house for raps favorite rappers...
